THIS SEASON: All-American Chelsea Chenault returns for her 2017 senior season as the defending Pac-12 champion in the 500y free and will help USC defend its NCAA title in the 400y free relay. A former U.S. National teamer on the 800m free relay and a career six-time All-American, she is poised for a great final year at USC.

2016: Chenault turned in a huge 2016 junior season, winning her first Pac-12 and NCAA titles ... She was a two-time All-American last year, highlighted by helping USC win its first-ever NCAA title in the 400y free relay, swimming the third leg. She also swam the third leg on Troy's 800y free relay squad that finished second. Both relays set school records. Chenault was a two-time B finalist, finishing 12th in the 200y free (1:44.93) and 11th in the 200y fly (1:54.96). She was also 45th in the 500y free (4:45.61) ... She won her first conference title at the 2016 Pac-12 Championships, claiming the 500y free (4:38.13) while taking fourth in both the 200y free (1:44.82) and the 200y fly (1:55.16), giving her nine Pac-12 A finals in as many tries. She also swam on USC's 800y free relay title as well as Troy's second-place 400y free relay, both of which broke then-school records ... At the Texas Invitational, she won the 200y (1:44.62) and 500y free (4:39.94) and anchored USC's victorious 400y free relay ... She had six dual-meet wins on the season, including three in the 200y free ... At the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials, Chenault was 10th in the 200m free (1:58.70), 15th in the 400m free (4:11.78) and 21st in the 100m free (55.69).

2015: Chenault was a two-time All-American as a 2015 sophomore, highlighted by a sixth-place finish in the 200y free (1:43.90). In the race's prelims, she shattered USC's school record with a 1:42.53. She also won the `B' final of the 200y fly (1:53.17), setting a PR, and was 10th in the 500y free (4:37.55). Chenault earned her other All-American honor after anchoring USC's fifth-place 800y free relay ... At the 2015 Pac-12s, Chenault posted a trio of top 5 performances. She finished third in the 200y (1:43.17) and 500y free (4:37.55) and was fifth in the 1650y free (16:15.67). She anchored USC's third-place 400y free relay and led off its fourth-place 800y free relay ... Chenault competed for the U.S. at the 2015 World Championships in Kazan, Russia, and earned gold after she helped the U.S. qualify for second out of prelims in the 800m free relay (with a 1:58.04 split).

2014: Chenault was a two-time All-American as a 2014 freshman and an NCAA Championships individual point scorer. She earned her All-American honors by helping USC to fourth in the 800y free relay and to sixth in the 400y free relay. She was also 10th in the 200y free (1:44.25), 16th in the 500y free (4:42.56) and 41st in the 200y fly (1:58.78) ... She was a three-time finalist at the 2014 Pac-12s, finishing third in both the 500y free (4:39.30) and the 200y free (1:43.91) while taking seventh in the 200y fly (1:56.70) ... At the 2014 U.S. Nationals, she was fifth in the 200m free in 1:58.60 to earn a spot on the U.S. National team. She was fifth in the `B' final of the 400m free (4:11.32) after finishing ninth in prelims and was also 29th in the 100m free (55.88).

HIGH SCHOOL: Chenault, the 2013 Cal-Hi Sports Girls Athlete of the Year and the 2013 San Jose East Bay Girls Swimmer of the Year, prepped at Carondelet High in Concord, Calif., she was a five-time North Coast Section record holder, helped her school break the national record in the 400y free relay and won 12 NCS titles (including three each in the 100y, 200y and 500y free) ... She was a 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials finalist in the 200m free and was 16th in the 400m free. She missed a top 6 finish in the 200m free and a berth in the 2012 Olympics by less than a quarter second. She was a semifinalist at the 2008 U.S. Trials in the 200m free as a 13-year-old and also swam in the 100m, 400m and 800m free ... Chenault had extensive national team experience prior to coming to USC. She anchored USA's prelim swim at the 2013 World University Games with the top split of 1:59.77. She then swam the third leg in the final and clocked an event best 1:57.88 as the U.S. held off Russia, 7:55.53 to 7:55.76 ... She earned gold for the U.S. as a prelim relay swimmer in the 800m free relay at the 2013 FINA World Championships, earning the worlds spot after taking sixth in the 200m free at the 2013 U.S. Summer Nationals ... She represented the U.S. at the 2012 FINA Short Course World Championships in the 200m free and helped the 800m free relay to gold. She was a 2012 U.S. Junior Pan Pac participant, winning the 200m free and taking second in the 400m free. At the 2010 U.S. Junior Pan Pacs, she won both the 200m and 400m free and also claimed golds in the 400m and 800m free relays.

PERSONAL: She was born on Oct. 19, 1994 ... Her father, Carl, played basketball at USIU in San Diego and her mother, Catherine, was a prep swimmer ...She is an international relations major.
