THIS SEASON: Tamara Santoyo returns as a 2019 senior looking to continue her solid contributions in the sprint freestyle and butterfly.
2018: Santoyo, as a junior, competed in a trio of events at the 2018 Pac-12 Championships, finishing 31
st in the 100y fly (55.35), 42
nd in the 50y free (23.80) and 44
th in the 100y free (52.29).
2017: Santoyo raced in three events at the 2017 Pac-12 Championships, tying for 31st in the 100y fly (56.01), taking 32nd in the 200y fly (2:12.97) and 65th in the 50y free (25.79).
2016: Santoyo provided solid depth in the sprint free and fly as a 2016 freshman.
HIGH SCHOOL: Santoyo prepped at William S. Hart High School in Santa Clarita, Calif., where she thrived as a sprint butterflyer and freestyler ... She was a two-time finalist in the 50y free (23.75) and 100y fly (55.09) at the 2015 CIF Southern Section Div. I Championships, taking fourth in both races as a senior. As a 2014 junior, she was second in the 100y fly (53.75) and fourth in the 50y free (23.36) and was also a finalist in the 100y fly in 2012 and 2013 ... Santoyo, a 2015 Daily News All-Area first teamer, swam in the 50m and 100m fly at the 2014 U.S. Nationals.
