2020: As a 2020 redshirt senior co-captain, Leach was a 2-time scorer at the Pac-12 Championships, finishing 14th in the consolation final of the 100y back (54.15) and 23rd in the bonus final of the 200y back (1:59.00). She was also 45th in the 50y free posting a 23.68 … Against Minnesota, Leach was fourth in the 100y back (57.42) … Leach opened her senior season with a fifth place finish in the 100y back (54.61) and 31st in the 50y free (24.48) … Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll.
2019: As a 2019 redshirt junior, Leach missed most of the fall season while injured but got healthy in the spring semester and ultimately scored at the Pac-12 Championships and raced at the NCAA Championships. Her appearance at her third NCAA Championships was limited to leading off the 200y medley relay, which qualified for the B final but ultimately was DQ’d in the race. At the Pac-12 Championships, Leach finished 13
th in the 100y back (53.75) and 18
th in the 200y back (1:57.31). She led off USC’s 200y medley relay that posted an NCAA automatic qualifying time (1:35.59), 0.41 off the school record ... She earned
CSCAA Scholar-All-American first
team honors for the second time and was also tabbed a 2019 Pac-12 All-Academic second team pick.
2018: Leach, as a 2018 true junior, missed the season recovering from knee surgery.
2017: Leach was a two-time
All-American as a 2017 sophomore, helping USC to fifth in the
200y medley relay and seventh in the
400y medley relay. She was also 25
th in the
100y back (52.45) and 45
th in the
200y back (1:56.32) … At the 2017 Pac-12 Championships, Leach reached her first conference final and
finished seventh in the
100y back in 52.56 after a 52.03 in prelims. She also won the B final of the
200y back for the second year in a row with a 1:54.50 and was
31st in the 50y free (23.28). She also swam on
USC’s school-record-setting
200y and
400y medley relays that
finished third ... In
USC’s win over UCLA, Leach set pool and meet records in the
200y back with a PR 1:52.58 and also lowered her PR in the
100y back to 52.00 ... She won the
100y back and
200y back three times apiece in dual meet action as a sophomore ... She earned
CSCAA Scholar-All-American first
team notice and 2017 Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention honors.
2016: Leach raced in two events at the 2016 NCAA Championships as a freshman, finishing
19th in the
100y back (52.15) and
24th in the
200y back (1:54.18). Her
100y time was a PR and just 0.20 away from
earning a B consolation final berth, and her 200 time matched her PR ... At the 2016 Pac-12 Championships, Leach won the B final of the
200y back (1:54.18) and was
11th in the
100y back (53.03)
while finishing
29th in the 50y free (23.36). She lowered her personal bests in the
100y (52.68, broken at
NCAAs) and
200y back (1:54.18) ... She raced in two events at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials, finishing
31st in the
100m back (1:01.95) and
68th in the
200m back (2:16.83).
HIGH SCHOOL: Leach prepped at
Hellgate High School in Missoula, Mont., where she was the state
record holder in the 50y,
100y and
200y back and the
200y and
500y free,
earning prep
All-American honors ... The 2015 Montana Swimming Female Athlete of the
Year led
Hellgate to
back-to-back state titles as a junior and a senior, winning multiple state
individual crowns ... A 2016 Olympic Trials qualifier in the
100m and
200m back, she posted a national top 10 time in the
100m back at the 2014 Junior Nationals and had another in the top 10 in the
200m back.
